When smashing trail and park days is what we live for we're glad to have the Niner WFO RDO 2-Star Mountain Bike under us. This big hitter of a bike uses 170mm of CVA supplied suspension to offer a bottomless feel in the chunkiest of terrain. CVA suspension is designed specifically for Niner bikes to offer a surprisingly consistent pedaling platform even on a 170mm enduro and freeride smashing rig. The bike comes only in a 29in platform, courtesy of the Niner brand's name, and with modern geometry figures, it smashes over any kind of ride chunder. The bike is supported by Fox Suspension throughout while paired with a SRAM 12-speed drivetrain.
Geometry on the bike, with its spaceship-looking frame, is engineered to provide confidence and descending prowess in any kind of downhill terrain. The bike comes standard with an ultra-slack 64.7-degree head tube angle that can be further slacked-out thanks to the integrated flip-chip. The wheelbase on a size medium is a stout 1225mm, giving this bike playful characteristics on the trail. These numbers combined lead to a bike that's best at home in highly technical situations where the speed is low but the need for precise control and commitment is high. The Niner WFO comes with an integrated bash gaurd, great for when we're getting over logs that might just be a little too big.
Niner spec's out the 2-star build with components that can still see plenty of abuse on the trail. Fox Performance suspension keeps the bike upright through the rough and chunder. The fork is built in a burly 180mm option, allowing all the biggest hits from the downhill park to be soaked up with ease. 170mm of travel with CVA suspension technology promotes a bike that's meant for big hits and offers up a bottomless feel while getting down the hill. SRAM Eagle takes care of the drivetrain duties, providing 12-speeds of shifting and a massive range good enough for getting up the steepest of fire roads.
We'll be taking the Niner WFO up to the highest and mightiest of resorts, eager to get as many good runs down as possible. Niner builds the WFO out of high-strength carbon and uses a threaded bottom bracket to keep creaking to an absolute minimum. We're more than stoked to be riding the original perpetrator of 29in wheels' big hit bike all around and through the hairiest terrain we can find. Niner's WFO is enduro ready with 2.6in tire clearance, slacked-out angles, integrated bash guards, and a Schwalbe tire combo ready for the steepest and most aggressive lines.
